Our Board: Celia Chandler
Celia Chandler, Toronto, Ontario
For many years Celia Chandler worked for the City of Toronto in a number of positions such as at the City Clerk’s office, managing the Toronto City Council meeting process; and the Freedom of Information Office, implementing privacy legislation. A second career as director of administration at an international environmental NGO brought an increased knowledge of the challenges that non-profits face daily as they work with committed but overworked staff, volunteer boards, and limited time and money. This experience was a catalyst for pursuing law so as to best serve the sector, which is how Celia joined Iler Campbell as an articling student in 2005 where she currently remains full time working primarily with co-op housing clients. Celia is also regular presenter at conferences and education events across Ontario speaking on a range of topics including: human rights, preparing for Landlord and Tenant Board hearings, evictions, employment law, board ethics and privacy.
