Our Board: Darcy Riddell
Darcy Riddell, Vancouver, BC
Darcy Riddell is a social innovation consultant with 20 years experience advancing sustainability and social change as a strategist, facilitator and campaigner. She is completing a PhD. in Social Innovation/Social and Ecological Sustainability (www.sig.uwaterloo.ca), researching strategies for catalyzing and scaling innovation in complex systems, using multi-stakeholder forest conservation examples from Canada and globally. Darcy consults with non-profits, foundations, businesses, social enterprises, universities and various levels of government, offering a potent mix of internal transformation, innovative group process, and strategic social impact. She recently co-designed and taught in Rockefeller Foundation’s inaugural Global Fellowship in Social Innovation and Resilience. Darcy also spent seven years at Hollyhock Leadership Institute as program director and lead consultant, convening and training social change agents from across North America. She has an M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology & Consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Darcy has also worked as a forest campaigner with Sierra Club and Forest Ethics in BC’s embattled rainforests, where she learned that conflict can lead to transformative change. Darcy is co-creating Vancouver’s first cohousing development, is the mother of two young children, and is a fourth generation Vancouverite.
