Our Board: Paul Rowe,Vice-Chair

Paul Rowe, St. John's, Nfld

Paul Rowe has worked as an elementary school teacher, was elected to the National Council of Development and Peace and served two three-year terms as the provincial representative for Newfoundland and Labrador, published a novel called “The Silent Time” which drew attention to an historic injustice done to the deaf children of Newfoundland, and has been a long time member of an environmental action group called CLEANL. Recognition for his work includes being given a Certificate of Honour from the National Council of Development and Peace in 2007 to acknowledge Paul’s longstanding contribution to the organization, being selected as a finalist for the prestigious Winterset Award for “The Silent Time”, and a Manning Award for his work with a colleague, Louise Moyes, for having written, performed and toured a theatre piece to French Immersion and French language schools that depicted the French presence in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1713.
