Financial Administrator (Part-Time, One-year Contract Position)

Bold and innovative national foundation is seeking a Financial Administrator with a minimum of 3 years experience. An integral part of the Foundation’s team, the Financial Administrator maintains the Foundation’s financial records working closely with the CFO.

Job Summary:

To perform financial and accounting duties. Responsibilities include general accounting such as coding, recording, posting and processing day-to-day transactions; processing accounts payable, payroll and investment records; maintaining, updating and reconciling accounting records; assisting in preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports and returns.

Working under the direction of the CFO and as part of a small Foundation team, the Financial Administrator interacts with other staff and various Board and Committee members.


Accounting/Finance and Business Administration community college diploma.

Minimum three years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Hours: 20 hours / week

Volunteer Opportunity with the CDF’s Adult Education Committee

We are looking for a passionate and committed voice, rooted in adult education for social change to join us!

The Catherine Donnelly Foundation takes a proactive approach to adult education, viewing it as an important tool to address the most pressing social, environmental, cultural and community development problems and concerns today. We are committed to supporting projects that promote active citizenship, democracy, personal and social transformation by fostering the development of critical consciousness and skills required to promote a more just, equitable and sustainable society in Canada. The committee reviews proposals from groups and organizations that use adult education processes that promote justice and equity for New Canadians, especially refugees and migrant workers, Indigenous peoples and other marginalized or excluded populations.  The Foundation builds on the adult education traditions of Fr. Moses Coady (, Paulo Freire (, and Myles Horton (

The CDF is seeking a passionate and committed voice, grounded in adult education for social change to join the Adult Education Committee.  As an individual with extensive experience in  adult education for social change with marginalized populations, you would be a full voting member of the Adult Education Committee. Your specific contribution would be to participate in deliberations and decision making regarding project proposals and CDF adult education program(s), to assist and advise staff upon request, and to enhance the Foundation’s capacity to meet its goals and objectives. It is anticipated that this would be a 4 days per year time commitment.  Expenses are covered by the Foundation.  CDF is working towards a more diverse board and committee membership which includes representation of the constituencies it supports.
