A WAY HOME
In November 2016, the CDF approved a new commitment of $1.25 million over 5 years. A Way Home supports and enables communities to make this shift through a Collective Impact framework and a coordinated constellation of strategic and practical resources, activities and supports, and at the same time advising and assisting national, regional, and local governments to develop, fund and implement effective solutions to youth homelessness. The Tyee is an independent online magazine that aims to inform and enliven the democratic conversation. CDF recently awarded them a second 1-year grant to explore emerging urban housing challenges and solutions, with emphasis on national approaches to access and affordability. Funding was provided to support the Women’s Leadership Skills Group. This program helped build the capacity of young women with leadership potential to work with residents and participants in Jess’s Place which is a transitional housing program for women in active recovery from addiction.
